Many people refer to resistance training as weight training because weights are used to provide the resistance, but it is so much more than simply lifting weights. The objective for this is not to build muscle mass, but to provide support for your bone structure and increase your bone density. Joe Balbo will be conducting an orientation on resistance training which will begin in the Multipurpose room to review the importance of resistance training, the benefits to health and well-being, going over each piece of equipment and its purpose before going into the fitness room to introduce the machines and reviewing the settings for each. Registration is required, the orientation is free of charge.
