Weekly Update: July 27th - August 2nd:
It's the last week of July! We have lots to do - hope to see you at the Lodge!
Here are some important fitness schedule changes for this week, accommodating instructor vacations. There will be no Line Dancing tonight or next Monday - class will then begin on Thursday, August 6th at 6:30 p.m. for a few weeks. Watch the updates for reminders. There will be no Aquatic Spine this Friday (July 31st) or Total Body on Monday (August 3rd). Gina will resume her classes beginning Friday, August 7th. Finally, we are super grateful to resident Jeanne Sikorski who volunteered her time for the month of July to sub teaching our 20-20-20 class. Renee will return to teaching Monday and Thursday morning classes next week.
As always, Balance Yoga will continue on Wednesdays and Water Aerobics on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Karate continues this Saturday - led by resident volunteer, Miyazaki. All are invited to join in!
IMPORTANT: Applications for HOA Board positions are due August 1st! Click on the menu to the left for details!
Happy Hour this week is BW-3s in Elyria for the men and Wolfey's for the women. Ladies please call Linda Dolinsky by 2 p.m. at 440-567-9681 if you plan to attend.
Better hurry back from Happy Hours - Tuesday the 28th is the next Concert by the Pool from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. featuring "Spirit of the 60s", Nelly Belly Wood Fired Pizza Truck and free popcorn from Linda and Caroline of New York Life. Residents only - no need to register. Due to the popularity of these events, you may wish to bring a chair!
Thursday, July 30th: All are invited to a special story-telling event followed by a screening of the new documentary, "Grandma Gatewood" presented by Bette Lou Higgins of Eden Valley Entertainment. This event is sponsored by Denise Shafer of Morgan Stanley and is free for residents and their guests to attend. Snacks will be provided. Please register to save a seat!
Ohioan Grandma Gatewood became the first woman to solo thru-hike the 2,050-mile Appalachian Trail in 1955 at the age of 67 after raising 11 children and surviving domestic abuse. She later went back and did it two more times -- making her the first person, man or woman, to hike three times. She hiked the 2,000-mile Oregon trail in 1959 and she helped establish the Buckeye Trail (which runs through southern Lorain County).
For those attending Drum Corps International on Friday evening at Avon Lake Memorial Stadium (there are 50 of you!), tickets will be ready for pickup at the Lodge soon. An email will go to each of you when they are ready.
For those attending Cinderella at Playhouse Square - the performance is at this Sunday! Tickets are at the Lodge for pickup now!
