Weekly Update: March 2nd - March 8th
Hello Pioneer Ridge!
Thank you to the scores of homeowners who attended North Ridgeville's Heart & Sole Challenge event this past Saturday! It was wonderful to see so many residents taking an active interest in the greater community and enjoying such a fun opportunity!
Free Movie Announced! Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the free movie at Regal Cinemas in Crocker Park - and we still have some seats available! Call or stop at Front Desk today to register (guests permitted to join you) then meet us tomorrow at the theater. We will be viewing The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on Tuesday, March 3rd at 10 a.m.
Please note: Tuesday morning's Water Aerobics & Aqua Arthritis are cancelled due to the high attendance at the movies. Class will resume on Thursday as scheduled.
Have you been thinking about joining in the hypnosis sessions on Tuesday? Monday is your last chance to register for your choice of session, beginning at 5 p.m at the Lodge. See the newsletter for pricing and full description.
Happy Hour this week will be Stubby's for the men and Bistro 83 for the women. Ladies, please call Madelyn Wilson before 2 p.m. on Tuesday if you plan to attend.
In response to many requests in the Lifestyle Survey, I am looking to schedule an evening exercise class at the Lodge. Renee (our amazing instructor for 20-20-20 class) is available in April on Tuesday evenings to lead a weekly class starting at 5:45 p.m. Each hour-long class would be $4 each and would feature 20 minutes each of cardio, strength, and core exercises. Would you attend this class in April? Please email me so I have an idea of whether or not this will work. Thank you!
Calling all Quilters: You are invited to join in a new group, beginning on Thursday, March 26th from 1-3 p.m. in the Sun Room. The purpose of this group is to connect us (beginners to advanced quilters) and give us the opportunity to share techniques, ideas, patterns, and projects. This group will be centered on FUN and the enjoyment of all things quilted! Drop in on the 26th to learn how to use a rotary cutter / ruler and to see a demonstration on fusible applique. We will also be brainstorming a name for our group, so have some ideas! No need to pre-register, just join in. Have questions? Contact Barb Caldwell or Phyllis Barcza with any questions.
On Wednesday, we will host our monthly Free Fitness Orientation at 10 a.m. in the Fitness Center. This is for anyone who is interested in an overview on how to use the equipment.
Thursday, Biggest Loser contestants are reminded to drop in for weigh-in, either in the morning between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. or in the evening between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets are now available to "I Love Lucy" at Playhouse Square on May 17th. We have discounted seats to the matinee performance for $42 each - you are welcome to purchase for family and friends to join you.
Garage Sale Days Announced! This year's annual Community-Wide Garage Sale will take place July 8th - 11th. Should we do a Junk in the Trunk Sale on Wednesday the 8th? In the evening? Let me know what you think!
Friday night is our monthly Homeowner Social beginning at 5:30 p.m. Join in to hear announcements for upcoming events and afterwards, registration will open for our April Bus Tour! (See newsletter for details). Don't forget our 50/50 raffle for LEC and remember to wear your name tag, please.
Next Monday is our next cooking demonstration and discussion for those who are following a plant-based diet. If you plant to attend, please email Laurie so she can plan accordingly. New to plant-based eating? Join in and see what all the chatter is about!
Registration is open for the Bonsai Workshop at Miller Nature Preserve on Friday, March 13th at 11 a.m. This event is a great escape from the cold - you'll learn the art of the bonsai while planting and pruning your own tree, while inside the warm and sunny conservatory. The price per person is $25 and space is limited.
On Sunday, March 15, the Singles/Solos group will be going to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Rainforest, followed by a late lunch at the Amazon Café, located right in The Rainforest. The senior rate for Zoo admission is $12.25, not including your lunch, which we will pay individually at the entrance. We will be carpooling, leaving the Lodge at 12:30 pm. Please register at the Front Desk by March 12. For more information, contact Carolyn Cooke at 214-425-6568 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
