Weekly Update: September 29th - October 5th
Congratulations to the 2014 Pioneer Ridge Bridge Tournament winners: Kay Marvin came in first place and Carol Bigley came in second. To quote Bill Burslem in making the announcement: "Girl Power!" Happy Hour this week Tuesday is City Diner for the men and Legacy for the women. Ladies, please call Linda Dolinsky before 2 p.m. if you plan to attend.
Bus Tour Update: We need just 4 more people to join in our Brewery Tour on October 29th. Enjoy a culinary tasting adventure and visit four micro-breweries enjoying samples and small plates at each. Last Friday, we had a GREAT group of women come to the Lodge to meet and greet while coloring mandalas (even drinking wine!). We will definitely host another one of these "creative socials" - stay tuned for the next date!
The Flu Shot Clinic at the Lodge will be held Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There are just a couple spots left for Tuesday - please stop in if you'd like to take a look at the signup sheet. For all who have registered, please plan to arrive a few minutes early to fill out a form for Drug Mart.
We will host a free Fitness Orientation this Wednesday. First, at 9:30 a.m., Joe from Fitness Serve will demonstrate the new cross-training elliptical plus all of the other equipment we have. Please register if you plan to join in. This is a great time to get answers to questions about our machines.
Wednesday is also our hike at Sandy Ridge Reservation, led by Chief Naturalist Tim Fairweather. Please meet at Sandy Ridge at 1 p.m. at the pavilion next to the playground, or meet at the Lodge at 12:30 p.m. if you'd like to carpool. Bring your camera and bottled water. This will be a moderate hike with Tim sharing his expertise on the waterfowl that reside at this Lorain County Metropark.
Small Group Personal Training will start on Wednesday at 3 p.m. for a month-long training series led by Gina Croft (who also leads our Total Body Classes on Mondays). Group Training will cater to individuals who seek to advance his or her fitness level using nautilus, free weights, cardio equipment, and a custom made plan based upon his or her goals. Each session will provide expert instruction from the perspective of a physical therapist who is also a certified personal trainer. Limited to just 5 spots, cost is $15 per week, paid in advance for the month. Only a couple spots remain for October - sign up today!
The Sunshine Committee will meet Wednesday night at the Lodge at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome - please contact Linda Zochowski for more information.
This Thursday October 2nd the Christian Fellowship Group will be in it's 4th week of our 4 week study of the Book Of Revelation led by resident and retired Pastor Bob Fitzpatrick. Each week the group will meet for 1 hour, using various media and lively discussion to explore the exciting and challenging final book of the Bible (no experience required!!). No need to sign up, just join the group in the multi-purpose room at 2PM. On Oct 9th we are starting anew...6 week study of Romans 12! Questions? contact Greg Dore at 216-406-4125.
On Thursday afternoon, we will begin cleaning all the carpets at 4 p.m. Bridge has been cancelled for the evening. The fitness center and pool will remain open for the evening, but all other activities are cancelled for the night.
Please join us Friday night for our monthly Homeowner Social beginning at 5:30 p.m. Be sure to wear your name tags and remember our 50/50 raffle. We've invited Emilie of Button Down Designs to bring her vast collection, which she uses to craft one-of-a-kind bracelets, and to offer a presentation on the zany world of antique buttons.
