Here's your lineup for the week:
On Monday the 17th we will feature Dr. Joy Rowland, DPM of the Cleveland Clinic to talk about foot health and when and why you should see a podiatrist. We have a great group attending - walk-ins are welcome to join in.
The Event Planners Committee is gearing up for the best Holiday Christmas Party ever and is glad to see so many residents signing up to attend. Registration is just $36 per person for a fun-filled evening at the Irish American Club, including a buffet dinner and live entertainment by the ever popular Tom Todd. Click on the "You're Invited" link at the left to see the menu and full description. AND, since the venue can hold a very large crowd, homeowners are permitted to bring up to two additional adult guests, if you like. (Please note: single residents are ALWAYS permitted to bring outside guests to events. This is in addition.) All guests must be registered at the desk before November 28th. See you then!
Registration is now open for the Snowflake Social to be held on Thursday, December 11th at the Lodge. This Christmas Choral Concert by the Glee Club is a great way to ring in some holiday cheer. Due to high demand, the Glee Club will perform two concerts - the first is at 6 p.m. and the second is at 7:30 p.m. This event is free and residents are permitted to bring guests. In between shows, there will be cookies and punch. Sign up to save a seat at this popular event!
HELLO, LIVER-LOVERS! The third and final LIVER LOVERS DINNER PARTY of the 2014 season will be held on MONDAY EVENING, NOVEMBER 17 at 5:00 pm at the WOOD AND WINE RESTAURANT, 38790 Chester Rd in Avon. As usual at these very special events, only liver with onions and bacon will be served. Questions? call Nancy Spera at 353-3027.
The Single/Solo club will be heading to Severance Hall on December 14 for the Cleveland Orchestra Christmas Concert. The concert starts at 2:30, we will be meeting at the lodge to carpool at 1PM. Our seats are located in the lower balcony. The cost of the event is $60 including parking and is payable at the desk. Please signup for this event starting November 1, we need to have everyone signed up by November 20. This is to ensure we can secure tickets.
Pancake Breakfast is Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Please don't all rush to get here at once! Registration for this event has now closed.
Tuesday afternoon, all are invited to "How to Age in Place" from 2 to 3 p.m. Denise Shafer of Morgan Stanley will lead this panel discussion with some of the area's experts in keeping you at home. Please register to save a seat.
Happy Hour this week is Stubbys for the Men (located at 114 Antioch Drive in Elyria, across from LCCC, off Abbe Road) and Wolfey's for the women. Ladies, please contact Linda Dolinsky before 2 p.m. Tuesday if you plan to attend.
This Tuesday at 7 p.m. we will host a Tech Talk with homeowner Bob Babicke: "Yosemite for the Mac has arrived! Join us to look at the exciting new features in this major update which may help you decide if the update is right for your Apple computer. Also, we will look at the steps for a successful installation and how this integrates with your iPhone and iPad.”
Attention Early Birds! The 20-20-20 class is SO POPULAR they have voted to squeeze in another weekly session EVERY THURSDAY at 7:30 a.m. Eek! That's early! But this class is is a great excuse to get up and get moving. Jump start your Thursday morning and join the group at 7:30 a.m. $4 fitness fee applies. See you then!
There will be no EVENING Water Aerobics on Thursday, November 20th. Class will take place Thursday morning as scheduled.
The Northern Cascade Chordsmen Barbershop Concert has now sold out for Thursday. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. concert. Dessert and coffee will be served after the show.
On Friday afternoon at 3 p.m., we'll host another round of Mandalas & More in the Sun Room. All supplies are included for the creative social hour for women. Free - but please register to attend.
Saturday, the North Ridgeville Fire Department will host Friends and Family CPR from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. This course does not include certification but does include hands-on training. Please register to attend.
Next Monday, we are pleased to offer Volunteer Orientation for anyone interested in local opportunities to give back to the community, hosted by Hands On Northeast Ohio. Once you complete this orientation, you'll be able to sign up on-line for any of the many volunteer activities in the area - with no minimum time requirement. Join in to learn more!
For anyone with questions about Medicare Plans, Kathy Hirko will host individual appointments on Tuesday the 25th at the Lodge. A sign up sheet is at Front Desk with available time slots.
Winter Bowling League Announced! All are invited to join in the Pioneer Ridge Winter Bowling League. It will begin on Wednesday, January 7th and meets weekly at Brunzwick Zone in North Ridgeville from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. To join, please contact Tom Costello via email at: email@example.com
